According to Geoscience Australia, two earthquakes were recorded in quick succession. The first, felt in Melbourne, parts of New South Wales and northern Tasmania, is now listed as a magnitude 5.8 – a downgrade from earlier reports – at a depth of 10km. That took place at 9.15am AEST.
